THE ROLE:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree/equivalent work experience, including exposure to basic accounting course work
  • Minimum of 3 years of fund accounting experience with bank loans
  • Exposure to multiple types of mutual funds (e.g., fixed income, equity, multi-class, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of all aspects of loan or deal administration functions
  • Proven knowledge of the Bank Debt asset class, including Primary and Secondary market trading
  • Ability to deep-dive into major responsibilities, reconcile variances and develop qualitative/quantitative explanations to concisely summarize results
  • Knowledge with Wall Street Office web application
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Personal computer skills (spreadsheets, word processing, and database applications)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

The person who secures this role will:

  • Provide oversight of bank loans life cycle events including Paydown/Drawdown, Interest rate resets, PIK interest calculations, Delayed Comp accruals / calculations & Trade settlements
  • Independently analyze, prioritize, and resolve issues impacting accuracy of bank loan positions and processes
  • Coordinate between custodian and agent banks and fund administrators to drive resolution of these issues
  • Responsible for communicating and supporting various internal groups, Investments, Trading, Compliance etc within the organization regarding all aspects of Bank Loans operations
  • Work closely with clients, Custodians and Fund Administrators to resolve cash and position queries and providing first level account service
  • Develop procedures for new functionalities for bank loan process
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce risk of monetary loss to funds, and lower costs
  • Compile Agent bank contact information and prepare year-end Bank Loan confirmations
  • In the absence of Manager, make decisions for the Bank loan team
  • Train and provide daily guidance to the Bank Loan Analyst
  • Participate as a Subject Matter Expert in Department and or Companywide strategic projects aimed to increase operational efficiency and improve workflow throughout Investment Operations environment
