THE ROLE: 

The ideal candidate will possess: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology, or related field
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; Limited travel may be required
  • Exposure to delivery and management of projects
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word and Excel
  • Knowledge and exposure to PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures
  • Working towards PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent beneficial
  • Minimum of 1 year experience to IT project planning and management
  • Experience with the full project lifecycle
  • Proven knowledge of structured project management methodologies
  • Experience with recognized application development methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative and Agile preferred
  • Experience with varying application development tools such as JIRA, TFS, SQL Query Analyzer as well as project management tools including MS Project, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Excellent facilitation, verbal, and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to all functional groups
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate with core project team as well as leverage PMO team for best practices
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion with the ability to understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
  • Skilled at making educated decisions on how to manage tasks with the team, with some supervision as needed
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment to meet deadlines and prioritize projects and tasks
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, but, when necessary, consult with either PMO leadership or project/program stakeholders for direction and/or clarity

The person who secures this role will:

  • Work in tandem with Program Managers, Portfolio Managers or the PMO Director to perform project management duties in support of the completion of projects
  • Participate during all phases of the project management process and run smaller projects
  • Schedule and conduct project meetings, communicate assignments, and expectations to project team members
  • Track completion of project deliverables to ensure the quality and integrity of all project-related products
  • Manage projects of 1-3 months in duration
  • Maintain and monitor project plans, project resources, and budgets
  • Organize and attend stakeholder meetings
