During the holidays there’s always a lot of talk of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, of long lines at big box stores and higher than normal credit card bills, but there’s also something special happening across the country and the world. The simple act of generosity. #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season and the Whitridge Team was excited to get involved in the giving.

“#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.”

On November 28th, 2017 Whitridge gave to 14 classrooms through DonorsChoose.org to complete their fundraisers to request much-needed materials and experiences for their students.

We’ve already received overwhelming thanks from the deserving teachers responsible for providing a nurturing and fulfilling learning environment for the children in our community.

We told Mrs. Cheney about your donation and she just posted this message on Painting in Our Classroom!:

"Thank you Whitridge! Your generosity will really make such a great difference for these students! "

We told Ms. Balkaran about your donation and she just posted this message on Learning Math in Color:

"Thank you so much Whitridge Associates Inc. for fully funding our project so that students can learn math in color! We are beyond excited to start using these materials to support student learning in math! Thank you again!"

Ms. MacLeod-Bluver just got the news that Interdisciplinary learning: Teaching about our Changing Planet in Humanities classrooms reached its goal:

Dear Whitridge Associates Inc.,

Thank you so much for your generous donation to support my professional learning. Last Spring, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to the Arctic with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions. Here, I saw firsthand the effects of climate change and was very inspired to share my learning and my experience with my students. When I returned to the classroom, I created an interdisciplinary unit on climate justice where my students create their own proposal about climate justice in our city. I am eager to share my learning with other teachers at the NSTA conference in Atlanta and to learn from other educators about best practices for interdisciplinary learning. Without your support, this would not have been possible. Thank you!

Mrs. Cheney just got the news that Painting in Our Classroom! reached its goal:

Dear Whitridge Associates Inc.,

Wow! Thank you to our donors - I am beyond excited to see our project has been funded!! I can't wait to get the kids exploring with paint in our classroom. They are going to be so excited and will love the this opportunity. I can't wait to see them even more excited about coming to school because of all of you providing this opportunity!!

Ms. MacLeod-Bluver just got the news that Teaching English Language Learners about Conservation and Wildlife Biology reached its goal:

Dear Whitridge Associates Inc.,

Thank you so much for your generous support! I am so thrilled and humbled to have such a tremendous learning opportunity to share with my students. Learning about our changing climate, conservation, and the complexities of environmental issues is critical for our students. I am certain that my experience as a fellow in Yellowstone will have a lasting impact on my students and their understanding of the interconnectedness of humans and our climate. Thank you!

Mrs. Campbell just got the news that Necessities Needed reached its goal:

Dear Whitridge Associates Inc.,

Thank you so much for your generous donation! I just announced your generosity to my class and they cheered with excitement. The pencil sharpener will allow for more time on academic work and less time trying to work a manual sharpener. The clipboards will be used daily for students to work in our flexible seating area! Thanks so so so much! Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated!

Ms. Karns just got the news that Bio Feedback-EmWave2 reached its goal:

Dear Whitridge Associates Inc.,
I cannot begin to thank you enough for your generous donations toward my project. I am very much looking forward to putting the project into place, and seeing the impact this product has toward improving students' mental health, both in the moment and long-term, and increasing time spent on learning!

Ms. Cochran just got the news that Inside Every Child is an Artist! reached its goal:

Dear Whitridge Associates Inc.,

Thank you all so much for your generous donations and support of my classroom! My students and I were so excited to learn that our project fully funded this morning. We cannot wait for all the new paint and paintbrushes to arrive so that we can continue our creative explorations.

Ms. Galvin just got the news that Hopeful Hoop Dreams! reached its goal:

Dear Whitridge Associates Inc.,

THANK YOU, thank you thank you! Your incredible generosity is greatly appreciated. As the coach I am forever grateful, but more importantly the experience that these girls have on our Middle School basketball team will be one they will never forget. Each day, the girls can come to practice enthused and energized, and we will give everything we have to reach our fullest potential!
Thank you again!
