Product Owner

THE ROLE:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Strong understanding of Investment Data and Investment Management industry
• Deep knowledge of data governance tools and best practices
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience as Data Analyst
• Knowledge of Data Governance & Data Quality
• Proven hands-on experience in project management
• SQL skills with any database and Snowflake
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in both formal and informal contexts in a fashion tailored for the audience
• Ability to deliver under stress in a fast-paced environment
• Strong process analysis and problem-solving skills
• Experience implementing a successful data onboarding program
• Familiar with agile process and JIRA

The person who secures this role will:

• Define data policies and controls for new data requirements
• Collaborate with other teams to implement data governance policies in data ingestion and operational processes
• Provide Data Ownership for certain standard data sets such as Morningstar, Index providers
• Clear understanding of the role of Data Consumers and the legal and regulatory matters affecting their data sets.
• Manage data sets by defining rules that implement and monitor controls and are accountable for supporting the data issue remediation and responding to data quality issues raised against their data
• Identify and promote usage of systems that provide trusted, consistent, and accurate data
• Provide thought leadership and participate in projects that involve data life cycles and processes
• Assess the current processes and technology in use to make recommendations for effective and practical data governance process
• Identify and document data quality problems through data profiling and advanced analysis
• Provide support for data issues by adopting firm level application Data Issue Management.
• Document, assess, influence, and synthesize business requirements to develop, enable, and advance data platform and stewardship capabilities
• Translate complex business requirements into focused technical requirements and data solutions
